The Dartford Tamil Knowledge Centre (DTKC) was established in 2010 with the purpose of connecting and bringing together Tamil students in Dartford and its nearby regions, while also educating them about our Tamil language, culture and rich heritage. The centre operates a Tamil language school on Saturdays, located at Holy Trinity Primary School, Chatsworth Road, Dartford, DA1 5AF.

At the Tamil school, our primary focus is on teaching our mother tongue, Tamil. As a nation who have fled genocide by the Sri Lankan state, we believe strongly that our identity should be upheld in the diaspora. We make a tremendous effort to ensure our culture, heritage and identity is passed to our future generations. We also offer various classes and activities to the students. We teach Carnatic music, which is a traditional form of classical music. We also provide lessons in Bharatha natya dance, which is a classical dance form.

In addition to these cultural and educational activities, we encourage the children to actively participate in sports and other physical activities. We believe in promoting a well-rounded development for the students, which includes nurturing their physical abilities alongside their cultural awareness. The centre also organises cultural events where the students can showcase their talents and celebrate their Tamil heritage. Overall, the Dartford Tamil Knowledge Centre aims to create a supportive community for Tamil students, providing them with a platform to learn about their culture, develop their artistic skills, improve their language proficiency, engage in physical activities, and participate in cultural events.
